Biography

Nieto was born in Colombia where he studied visual communication and started working as an art director in different advertising agencies. He moved to France where he decided to focus on film direction.

Nieto’s short film, Carlitopolis, crafted at the end of his studies, won several awards such as the 2006 Adobe achievements awards and the audience awards in Clermont Ferrand short film festival. Nieto’s work has been shown at multiple RES Fests and the Creators of Tomorrow series.

His spot work includes Nike from Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam; Sprint, 'City Lights' for Goodby, Silverstein & Partners; ATP for Taxi/Toronto; a series of Heineken pieces for Berlin Cameron United; and Visa, "Go World" anthem work out of TBWA/Chiat/Day/LA

Luis has also executed a series of short films for CANAL +. In these 7 short films for the premium channel he stars as Professor Nieto performing quirky experiments with his assistant monkey, Patrick.

Nieto excels as a painter, an animator, a designer, a live action director and a graphic artist.
