Biography

Channeling his teenage passion for graffiti into graphic design studies Wilfrid Brimo graduated from ESAG in 1994.  After school, he began a career as a graphic designer, broadcast designer and photographer.

He started as a broadcast designer, creating the global look of MTV Asia, the France2 idents and designs for TF6.

One day Wilfrid was asked last minute to step in for a director and he was instantly bitten by the directing bug.  Soon after, he directed his first commercial for The World Athletics Championships, which won a Silver Lion at the Cannes Festival.

In the next few years he transitioned from full animation projects for brands like AIDES, Shakedown and Frucor to live action spots, building on his previous work as a photographer.  Heavily awarded highlights include Orange, Peugeot, Citroën, Mercedes, Surfrider, and Meetic.

Passionate about storytelling, Wilfrid often mixes live action, special effects, motion control, matte painting and 3D in a single film, like he did in the spectacular Carlos preview for Canal+. When he creates an emotional experience for the audience, he considers that piece a job well done.

Wilfrid Brimo is among the top French advertising directors being commissioned internationally.
